A FOUR-hour “aerobathon” is being held to raise money for a boy’s hydrotherapy needs.

On Sunday October 28, the St Alban’s Sports Centre in Ampleforth will host the session to raise funds for a hydrotherapy pool for seven-year-old William Chambers, from Marton.

William, who uses a wheelchair, has cerebral palsy, developmental delay, epilepsy and is blind. The much-needed pool will help relax him and stimulate his senses.

So far, through a variety of fundraising activities, the family has raised in excess of £8,000 and they hope the aerobathon will raise the final funds needed.

The aerobathon will consist of non-stop aerobic exercise to music, with exercises that will work the full body.

Jason Brown, centre manager, said: “We are very proud to be hosting this event to raise money for a very special little boy.

“We will be opening up our hall for the day and there will be plenty of space for participants and spectators. We hope to welcome as many people as possible to help William’s wish come true.”

The aerobathon will be led by personal trainer Emma Leonard and will consist of four back-to-back one-hour sessions that can be booked in a group or individually.

Minimum sponsorship for individual sessions is £10 and £40 minimum for all four sessions. Each completed session enters you into a free prize draw raffle too.
