A SUPERNATURAL murder mystery novel by Pickering author Paul Holbrook is being published this week.
The novel, Domini Mortum, is set in the late 19th century and follows Samuel Weaver, an artist and writer for The Illustrated Police News, the predominant tabloid newspaper of the day, as he investigates a series of unexplained murders.
The novel is predominantly based in York and London, but also features the ghostly village of Pluckley in Kent, supposedly the most haunted village in Britain.
Paul, who works for Ryedale Special Families, will be hosting a launch party for the novel on Friday, at 7pm, at The Sun in Pickering.
The event, which is open to anyone interested in the novel, will feature readings and music, as well as signed copies of the book.
