A PRE-Christmas wine tasting event will be held in Helmsley to raise money for Yorkshire Cancer Research.

On the back of the successful Ginilicious gin festival, which took place in the summer, Helmsley Wines will be hosting the wine tasting on Friday, November 2, from 7pm to 10.30pm, at Helmsley Town Hall.

It will offer people the chance to select wines for the festive period. Exclusive offers will be available, as well as a raffle in aid of Yorkshire Cancer Research, with the chance to win prizes, including Sunday lunch for two at The Black Swan and dinner for two at the Feversham Arms.

Tickets are £25 per person,

which includes the opportunity to sample from more than 100 different wines and enjoy a selection of canapes.

A donation will be made to Yorkshire Cancer Research for every ticket sold.

Jayne Potter at Helmsley Wines said: “The format of the event will be quite informal, and it should be a really fun and sociable evening.

Alex Green, relationship manager at Yorkshire Cancer Research, said: “We’re delighted Helmsley Wines has chosen to support Yorkshire Cancer Research.

“The money raised will help fund vital research and community health projects across Yorkshire.”

Tickets are available to buy from Helmsley Wines in Bridge Street, online at helmsleywines.co.uk and by emailing fionalovell@btinternet.com
