DOUBLE Olympic British showjumper Geoff Billington will make his Countryside Live debut this month when he takes to the equine arena.

Geoff will take part in showjumping demonstrations in the indoor equine ring on both days of the show.

The British showjumper has represented Great Britain on more than 50 occasions, including during the European and World Championships and at the Olympics.

Geoff said: “I’m very much looking forward to coming to Countryside Live for the first time. I will be bringing four horses from novice to international level, explaining training techniques with each horse at different stages of their career.”

Countryside Live will take place on Saturday, October 20, and Sunday, October 21, at the Great Yorkshire Showground in Harrogate.

Show director Charles Mills said: “We’re delighted to have someone of Geoff’s calibre showjumping at this year’s Countryside Live.

“His talent and witty commentary is sure to go down a storm with our visitors.”

Geoff will be taking part in demonstrations on Saturday at 11am to 1pm and 3pm to 5pm and on Sunday at 1.30pm to 3.30pm in the indoor equine ring.

Now in its 16th year, Countryside Live usually attracts about 12,000 visitors across two days. As well as family activities, there are 2,000 animals who converge on the showground over the two days to compete.

From horses to honey, pigs to poultry and pigeons to rabbits there are competitions and classes throughout the weekend. Elsewhere there’s birds of prey displays, hundreds of stands to browse, horticultural classes and farriery competitions.

Tickets are on sale now and parking is free. Please note dogs are not allowed on the showground.
