VISITORS to Rievaulx Abbey were able to view the ancient stonework in a new light at the weekend.
Illuminating Rievaulx saw colouring lighting highlight the abbey over the weekend.
Tuukka Laakso, property manager at Rievaulx Abbey, said: “This is the first time that English Heritage has staged an event like this at the abbey and we are thrilled with the way that it’s gone.
“Through the course of the weekend we welcomed more than 2,000 visitors who marvelled at the abbey and enjoyed Michael Davis’s ‘Halo’ sound installation. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive and we’d love to do something similar again.”
