TWO cars left the road in Ryedale yesterday, in Sheriff Hutton and Malton.
According to North Yorkshire Police on social media, the first incident involved a black Peugeot and happened in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Police said: "In the early hours of this morning we were called by the occupants of a house in Sheriff Hutton who were woken by the sound of this vehicle crashing into through gardens and coming to rest on their lawn."
Police said that the driver - who had held a driving license for less than a year - was "miraculously" uninjured.
He then failed a roadside breath test. "He was arrested and at custody provided an evidential sample over over twice the legal limit and will be charged to court," police added.

The second incident involved a blue car and happened near Malton.
"The driver of this vehicle somehow suffered only minor injuries after leaving the road and rolling multiple times across a field near Malton," police said.
"Prior to being taken to hospital he provided a positive roadside breath test. A blood sample was obtained from him and will be analysed in due course.
"Enquiries ongoing into possible document offences too."
