A 73-YEAR-OLD woman has been helped in the Moors by mountain rescue teams after injuring her shoulder.
Scarborough and Ryedale Mountain Rescue Team (SRMRT) said they were called by police just after 10am this morning to Leas Head Road near Littlebeck.
The woman had fallen and sustained the injury to her shoulder and arm while walking in the Moors.
SRMRT said in an incident report: "The team deployed eleven team members to the scene and, after administering pain relief, evacuated the lady in one of our Land Rover Ambulances to Littlebeck.
"Here we transferred her to a Yorkshire Ambulance Service crew for transportation to definitive medical care.
"The team were deployed for two and a half hours."
It was SRMRT's 70th callout of the year so far.
