STAFF at Ryedale businesses are doing their bit for cancer research by organising Macmillan Coffee Mornings on September 28.

For the third year running, NFU Mutual in Pickering will host an event from 10am to 3pm on the day, and will be playing games, including guess the number of sweets in the jar.

They added: “Anybody is welcome to drop in for a drink and a cake.”

The team at Malton-based Volvo retailer, Ray Chapman Motors, is also inviting people to pop in for cake, coffee and a chat, from 9am to 4pm.

Duncan Chapman, retailer principal at Ray Chapman Motors, said: “It’s not often you meet someone who hasn’t been affected by cancer at some point in their lives. We’re proud to host a coffee morning to do our bit to say thank you for the incredible work that Macmillan does.

"It also gives us a great opportunity to take some time out to catch up with members of the community over a good cup of coffee and a slice of cake.”
