MORE than 5,000 concertgoers enjoyed the music, flypast, laser show and fireworks finale at Castle Howard Proms on Saturday.
Soprano Lesley Garrett was joined by tenor Geraint Dodd, members of York Musical Society and the London Gala Orchestra, with Stephen Bell on baton duty.
The programme included Proms classics and popular musical renditions such as My Fair Lady’s I Could Have Danced All Night and You’ll Never Walk Alone.
Sophie Allanby, communications executive for Castle Howard, said: “We were delighted that the weather held out so Saturday’s audience experienced the wonderful Spitfire flyover, lasers and fireworks.
“We’re incredibly grateful to all the performers, and indeed, delighted that the crowds enjoyed all the music so much.”
