A CAR left the road and rolled down an embankment on the A170 yesterday.
Fire crews from Helmsley and Kirkbymoorside stations were sent to the location, near Sproxton, just before 8pm.
The fire services were called by ambulance crews, already on the scene, to assist with extracting a woman from the overturned Ford vehicle.
A fire spokesperson said that upon arrival the person had already been freed from the vehicle, but the crews assisted paramedics in carrying the person to a waiting ambulance at the roadside.
The woman, believed to be suffering from minor injuries, was taken to hospital by road ambulance.
