FOUR talented artists are the latest York students to benefit from a school bursary.

The Alan Stuttle Art Bursary at Huntington School this year has been awarded to Sixth Form art students, Maddie Hancocks, Katie Bolton, Beth Maycock and Annie Foo.

The annual bursary is awarded in memory of Alan’s daughter Caroline Stuttle who was murdered in Australia in April 2002. Caroline had studied art at Huntington School and Alan set up the bursary to support art students and give them opportunities to develop their work.

Cassie Garbutt, subject leader for art, said: “The girl’s work is on display in the schools annual arts festival exhibition, featuring work from KS3, GCSE and A Level art students. Students also design and create artwork during the week of the arts festival responding to this years theme of a Journeys.

“The arts festival also features performances from music, drama, dance and media with the students creating work during the week. We are incredibly proud of the students creative and inspiring work, it is so important to keep promoting the arts. “
