YORK residents have a few more days to have their say about plans to transform the front of York Railway Station into a ‘fitting gateway to the city’.
The consultation over the plan, which would see the redundant Queen Street Bridge removed, is open until midnight on Monday, July 9.
Proposals include relocatring the taxi-rank, drop-off points and short stay parking, pedestrianising Tea Room Square and creating a new ‘Station Square’, and revealing hidden parts of the City Wall, and York RI’s buildings.
Web pages with full details of the proposals including a 3d virtual tour, have been viewed nearly 10,000 times and hundreds more people have commented across social media, at events and through the questionnaires.
Council deputy leader Andrew Waller thanked the people who have taken part so far, and urged others to get involved before the deadline.
