SUMMER is here - and with it, a slew of great photographs from Press Camera Club members.
Tara Abbott's Fields of gold is a marvel of composition and focus, all sun-bleached fronds and bars and feathered stalks weaving an intricate pattern across the page. And there's warmth, too - you can almost smell the rich, prickly, throat-tickling scent of barley heated in the mid-day sun. As to Medel Domingo's wheat field - Van Gogh himself would have been proud of that sky, and of the glorious orange-gold light coming off the wheat. Just a pity there are no crows...
Lynnette Cammidge's blushing Red Kite appears to be hiding its face behind its wing. But look closely and you can see that its beady yellow eye is trained right on you. Sue Turpin's Strawberry Splash, meanwhile, captures the lovely crystal liquidity of water - with the splash of colour from the strawberry providing the perfect contrast.
The most contemplative photo on these pages, however, is Jonathan Allison's 'having a quiet read'. Wouldn't we all like to be doing that now?
In case you're wondering who won last month's #Portrait competition, meanwhile: that's still being deliberated. The winners will be announced next week...
