A MAGICAL show for the smallest members of the family joins the summer season at the Stephen Joseph Theatre (SJT) later this month.

Moonbeam’s Magical Mission is the latest of the hugely popular Tiny Times Tales, which have been entertaining pre-schoolers for many years now.

Moonbeam Quicktrick the elf has the most important job of all in Trollside – Royal Chef to Her Most Thoroughly Royal and Properly Proper Majesty, Queen Treebottom.

Unfortunately the queen thinks Moonbeam needs to improve his cooking skills and sends him on a quest to the magical kingdoms of Fire, Earth, Air and Water at the four corners of the world, in order to gather the finest foods and learn from the finest chefs in time to prepare the most important banquet of all.

Each week will feature a different episode, and there’ll be a catch-up for audience members who couldn’t make the previous week.

Written by Guy Bass – who also wrote last summer’s hugely popular The Tales of Tipsy Willow Tree – the show is directed by Cheryl Govan and designed by Julia Wray.

The cast includes Alfie Woodhead (George in George’s Marvellous Medicine and Spineless Vertebrae (Goblins are the Best) in The Tales of Tipsy Willow Tree) as Moonbeam, community actor Sarah Pearce, and guest appearances from Tiny Time favourites including Nicole Henry-Fox and Alex Briggs, both seen in Tipsy Willow and The Adventures of Aluki and Nanuk.

The show can be seen at 10.30am on Saturdays July 28, and August 4, 11, 18 and 25 . Tickets cost £3; to book, please call the box office on 01723 370541 or visit the website: www.sjt.uk.com
