TWO Ryedale men and a man from East Yorkshire have appeared in court charged with affray.
Richard Robertson Tierney, 30, of Cross Lane in Snainton, Robert Howard Robertson Tierney, 56, also of Cross Lane in Snainton, and Roger Marley, 50, of Church Lane in Langtoft, East Yorkshire, all appeared at Scarborough Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
Richard Tierney appeared in jeans and a t-shirt, the other two men wore brown blazers.
In a hearing lasting about ten minutes, the men were all charged with affray - using or threatening violence towards other people - relating to an incident in Thixendale in March last year, while they were riding out with the Middleton Hunt.
Marley was also charged with assault causing actual bodily harm.
All three men pleaded not guilty to the charges of affray and Marley also pleaded not guilty to the charge of assault.
District judge Adrian Lower said the case will be referred to York Crown Court on Monday, July 9. All three men received unconditional bail.
