A STUNNING pop-up Elizabethan theatre offering a unique Shakespeare experience will open in York later this month.
Situated beside Clifford’s Tower, the 13-sided Shakespeare’s Rose Theatre will be staging four of William Shakespeare’s most popular plays - Macbeth, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Romeo & Juliet and Richard III - which will be performed from Monday, June 25 to Sunday, September 2.
Tickets start from £12.50.
Outside Shakespeare’s Rose Theatre will be “Shakespeare’s Village”, a free-to-enter attraction that will feature a gourmet street food menu selected by Yorkshire-born celebrity chef Brian Turner, and an Elizabethan garden from award-winning garden designer Sally Tierney.
It will also present a regular schedule of “wagon entertainment” with speeches, sonnets and medieval music, as well as juggling jesters.
We have teamed up with the Rose Theatre to offer readers the chance to win one of three pairs of VIP tickets to see Macbeth on Tuesday, June 26, at 7.30pm.
