A MAN was led to safety and treated for smoke inhalation after a fire broke out at a flat in North Yorkshire last night.
North Yorkshire fire service said the fire, in North Marine Road, Scarborough, was caused by a chip pan being left unattended.
Crews from Scarborough and Filey were called to the fire at 9.10pm and put out the flames.
A fire service spokesman said: “One male was led to safety and was given oxygen therapy to treat smoke inhalation by firefighters before being left with paramedics.”
