THE North Ryedale Riding Club is organising a pleasure ride in the North York Moors National Park.

The ride will take place on Saturday, April 21.

A spokesman for the club said: “For some weekend equestrian fun, join the North Ryedale Riding Club Pleasure Ride. The rides will be seven or 10 miles long in the beautiful North Yorks Moors along private land.

“The route will be signed and maps available on the day. Come and join us.”

They added that parking will be available from 9am and riders may start between 9.30am and 11.30am, setting off in small groups.

The rides will start at Nawton Tower, Hallfield Lane, Nawton, York YO62 7TW. Entry fees are £20 for non-members (£15 members) pre-entry or £25 on the day.

The theme of pleasure rides is continued elsewhere with the British Horse Society’s National Trust rides for 2018.

The popular National Trust estate rides are returning in 2018 in support of the British Horse Society’s Ride Out UK month.

The campaign focuses on raising awareness of the UK’s bridleway network, and raising money for the BHS Paths for Communities fund.

A BHS spokesman said: “This is a rare opportunity to saddle up and explore beautiful scenic views over six treasured National Trust landscapes.

“Places are limited, so do get your entries in early. See bhs.org.uk/rideoutuk for entry details.”

Event dates will continue to be added in the run-up to May.
