A POPULAR Channel 4 reality show has featured Ryedale contestants for the second time in recent weeks.

Rory Queen, owner of the Chapter Two Bar and Accommodation in Malton’s Market Place, and the business’s manager Katherine Woodford, appeared on last week’s run of Four in a Bed.

Chapter Two, which opened in the Market Place in 2016 on the site of the old King’s Head pub, was invited to take part after a production assistant stayed there last year.

“It was exciting,” Rory said. “Two weeks of filming was hard work but enjoyable.

“It was about promoting what we have - Malton is on the up and things are happening.”

Rory is no stranger to television, having appeared in shows in the past including Heartbeat and My Parents Are Aliens. He is also a well-known panto performer, playing Widow Twanky in the Malton pantomime, which he also directed, last month.

“We went in with no expectation of what we were going to get out of it,” he said, but added that already bookings are starting to come in. “The show goes out in every country in Europe.”

Chapter Two, which was up against establishments from Callander, Cumbria and Blackpool, came second in the show after being judged by the other guests who awarded it 99 per cent of the asking price.

The show, which first aired in 2010, involves four B&B owners from around the country who take it in turns to stay with one another. The guests then pay what they consider fair for their experience. The winner is then the establishment named best value for money.

Chapter Two’s appearance comes just weeks after the show featured Laskill Country House in Bilsdale.
