FIRE services fought a fire in an Aga cooker this morning.
Crews from Malton station were called to the fire on Ruffin Lane, Eddlethorpe, just after 7am.
According to the fire service, the officer in charge requested back-up from a further fire engine from Pickering and the 'aerial ladder platform' from Huntington.
The fire was located in the cavity of a kitchen wall. Using drills and small tools, crews had to remove a wall to access it.
The cause of the fire was heat radiated from the Aga cooker to the wall.
Crews used backpack sprayers, two hose reel jets and breathing apparatus when extinguishing the fire.
