A YOUNG woman was left with serious injuries after being "thrown" from a car in a crash near York.
Humberside Police said it was called to the collision, in Sandhill Lane, Sutton-on-Derwent, at 11am yesterday.
It involved one car, a Vauxhall Corsa. An air ambulance attended the scene.
A spokeswoman for Humberside Police said: "An 18-year-old woman, the driver of a Vauxhall Corsa, suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries."
A Humberside fire service spokesman added: "Female driver thrown from vehicle. Fire service assisted air ambulance. No further action taken. Left in hands of police."
