THE A64 was closed this afternoon following a car crash.
The crash, involving a car and an HGV, took place between Willerby and Staxton at the B1249 crossroads.

A police spokesperson said that the A64 was closed but was re-opened a few hours later. They added that an air ambulance attended.
Fire services said that crews from Scarborough and Sherburn attended the collision involving a car and a heavy goods vehicle.
"When crews arrived on scene the driver of the HGV was out of the vehicle," they said.
"The driver of the car was being assisted by the paramedics on scene and they were able to help the driver out of the car to receive further treatment.
"The crews made the area safe and left the scene in the hands of the paramedics."
