FIRE crews were called to reports of a single vehicle crash last night.
Appliances from Scarborough, Filey and Sherburn attended the scene on Main Street, Flixton, at around 6.30pm.
On arrival crews discovered one woman who was not physically trapped.
As the vehicle was on its side in an awkward position, crews assisted the woman to safety from the rear of the vehicle.
She was checked by paramedics on scene.
Earlier in the day, Malton crews had several callouts to incidents in the district.
At 8.57am, crews from Malton and Pickering attended a report of a gas cylinder on fire "in the Malton area".
The fire was out on arrival, but crews checked the remaining cylinders with the thermal imaging camera and gave safety advice to the responsible person on site.
Then at 1.24pm, two crews from Malton attended a report of a chimney fire, again in the Malton area.
The fire was confined to the chimney. Crews used a triple extension ladder to access the loft and used chimney rods and one hose reel to extinguish the fire.
They checked for hotspots using the thermal imaging camera and gave fire safety advice to the occupier.
