A NEW agreement will see Helmsley Rotary staging their meetings at CLIC, the community library and information centre in Kirkbymoorside.
The new arrangements also see Christine Dowie, Kirkbymoorside town councillor and driving force behind the library’s reinvention, become a member of Helmsley Rotary.
A spokesman for the Rotary Club said: “This helps both organisations; an income for the library charity and a cut in costs for Rotary.
"Helmsley Rotary still supports the needs of people in both towns and is looking for a representative based in Helmsley to replace their contact Paul Radcliffe who sadly died in 2015.”
Since the club was formed in 2005 it has normally met at various venues in both Helmsley and Kirkbymoorside.
Under the new meeting arrangements potential members are not expected to attend every meeting. This makes it easier to fit in with family needs and other regular commitments.
