SCAMPSTON Plant Fair will be returning for the eighth year on Sunday attracting gardening enthusiasts and horticulturalists from across Yorkshire.

This year there will be a mix of stallholders, both new and old, offering everything from perennials and pelargoniums to grasses and garden furniture.

Attending the event will be Scampston locals, Wacks Wicked Plants, who have just been awarded the Gold Award at the Harrogate Spring Flower Show, as well as a silver gilt award at the RHS Malvern Spring Festival. They will be selling an array of unusual carnivorous plants.

Scampston’s growing nursery will also be fully stocked with some of the unusual varieties of plants found in the garden.

Isobel Pritchard, marketing & visitor services manager, said: “We are delighted to host a number of award-winning nurseries, as well as local experts at Scampston this June. All our stallholders are extremely knowledgeable and passionate about their plants.

“Scampston Walled Garden is the perfect setting for the Plant Fair, providing inspiration for keen gardeners around every corner.

“If you have never visited Scampston, this is an excellent opportunity as entry to the Plant Fair also includes access to the contemporary Walled Garden and Capability Brown Parkland, neatly tying together two very different gardening styles from two different eras.”

Scampston’s Walled Garden, a unique contemporary garden was designed by renowned Dutch plantsman Piet Oudolf.

Doors will be open from 10am to 4pm. Admission for the plant fair and gardens will be £7.50. The Garden Cafe will also be open.
