A MAN has been assaulted following an attempt to break up a dispute between a man and a woman.
The incident happened in the Hilderthorpe pub on Hilderthorpe Road, Bridlington at around 12.30am on Saturday, June 11.
According to police, a 67-year-old man was having a drink when he tried to intervene in domestic dispute between a known man and woman.
The man took offence and allegedly assaulted the victim, before other people in the pub intervened.
The victim sustained a broken finger and a swollen and cut eye socket. He attended Scarborough Hospital for treatment.
Police are now appealing for people who witnessed the incident to call 101 quoting crime reference number 2193734, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
