RYEDALE'S hedgerow-fruit liqueur producer Sloemotion is launching its 10th new product.
Damson Vodka, which is available from April 25, is a fruity liqueur, with a clean and crisp aftertaste. It has a balanced smooth dryness and like all the Sloemotion liqueurs, is perfect as a night cap or a digestif.
For the more adventurous, it lends itself most deliciously to being mixed in a number of cocktails.
In line with the Queen’s 90th birthday on Thursday, the Sloemotion team have also created the Damson 90 cocktail – one part Damson Vodka, one part elderflower cordial and topped up with champagne – a celebratory cocktail.
Sloemotion is a family-run business based at Green Farm, Barton-le-Willows.
As well as the new Damson Vodka and award-winning Sloe Gin and Sloe Whisky, Sloemotion also produces Sloe Vodka and Sloe Brandy.
In 2011 they moved “down the hedgerow” and started producing Damson Gin and Cherry Brandy, and more recently Bramble Whisky, which was awarded the Best Product Award at this year’s 2016 Scotland’s Speciality Food and Drink Show.
Jonathan Curtoys, of Sloemotion, said: “We are thrilled to launch our 10th drink, particularly as it happens to be Sloemotion’s 10th year in production. The Damson Vodka complements our range of liqueurs and we are hoping it will prove equally as popular as its sister liqueur, Damson Gin, which was awarded a bronze award at the World Gin Awards in 2014.”
