IT WAS jingle all the way for the Christmas Malton Monthly Food Market on Saturday.
The festive finale for the 2014 season of markets included over 40 food and drink stalls, four chef demos, a mincemeat cookery demonstration, carols and a visit from Santa.
Tom Naylor-Leyland, director of the market, said: “Saturday’s event was a true celebration of the festive season. Everyone was in high spirits, particularly after they sampled the mulled wine which was available during the market!
“Stallholders and customers had an excellent day and the Christmas carols, sung by Kirkham Henry singers, added to the relaxed, jolly atmosphere.”
Regular stallholder Andrew Walker of The Patisserie said: “This market on Saturday was very busy, and customers stocked up for Christmas.
“We had our regulars but we also saw new faces, which meant people were coming to Malton to enjoy the food and atmosphere.”
Malton Monthly Food Market takes a break in January and February, returning on Saturday. March 14.
