WORK & Pensions Secretary Iain Duncan-Smith has visited Malton Jobcentre Plus – and welcomed new figures showing that 498 fewer people are claiming Jobseeker’s Allowance in Thirsk & Malton than in 2010, a 48 per cent drop.
He was accompanied on his visit by Thirsk & Malton MP Anne McIntosh and Conservative Parliamentary candidate, Kevin Hollinrake, who said the figures showed that the Government’s plan was working, getting Britain closer to its target for full employment.
