DICKENS will be brought to life in Malton this Saturday with a series of readings from his novels.

Presented by Richard “Badger” Billinge, of the Charles Dickens (Malton) Society, the event will be held at the Hidden Monkey café, in Market Place, from 2.30pm. Excerpts will be read from Hard Times as well as Oliver Twist, featuring the Artful Dodger. Listeners can also hear about the thrashing of the evil Wackford Squeers in Nicholas Nickleby.

Lasting for a 90 minutes, the readings will finish with a Dickens question and answer session. Tickets, available at the Hidden Monkey, are £5, including refreshments.
