STRATEGIC new road improvements are on the drawing board for Ryedale.
North Yorkshire County Council’s transport, economy and environment scrutiny committee was told that the programme includes £4.5m to upgrade the A64 at the Musley Bank junction, and £1m to provide access and servicing infrastructure to unlock development of employment land at Pickering.
In addition, there are plans in the county council’s local transport plan for the redevelopment of Malton’s public transport interchange at a cost of £500,000 and £85,000 to be spent on a package of general highway work in the Malton and Norton area.
Also planned is the spending of £6.3m to upgrade the A64 junction at the FERA campus at Sand Hutton, and £1.4m for athe planned businesstechnology park, agricultural business park and livestock market at the junction of the A169 and A64 at Old Malton.
