A VILLAGE pub has raised more than £5,000 for charity through its weekly pub quizzes.
Beating last year’s total of £3,887, The Fox and Hounds in Sinnington has raised a total of just over £5,200 to be shared equally between three charities close to the hearts of staff at the pub.
Gemma Skaife, who works front of house at the pub and is responsible for organising the quizzes said: "We chose St Catherine's Hospice, Macmillan Nurses and the Yorkshire Air Ambulance because they are all personal to the people who work here.
"It has been a big task organising the quizzes but it has definitely been worth it, we are so pleased to have raised so much money."
