ORGANISERS of the Malton and Norton Christmas lights are appealing for support.
Denys Townsend said the lights committee consisted of himself and Kevin Chilton from the business community, along with councillors representing the two town councils.
“The budget for the lights is approximately £7,500, of which we receive £6,000 through donations from the town councils and Malton CIC,” he said. “The rest we have to collect from donations from local businesses and organisations – the more we recieve the more we can do with the display.”
This year, the Christmas lights switch-ons will take place in Norton, on Friday, November 29, and in Malton, on Sunday, December 1.
Denys said the committee was hoping for more volunteers to help with the displays.
