A Hospice is inviting people to “share a card” this Christmas and raise funds for its patient care.

Following the success of last year’s appeal, St Catherine’s Hospice is asking local businesses, groups and organisations to only send one card this Christmas, instead of sending individual cards to many people.

Hospice fundraiser Louise Gravestock said: “Share-a-card offers work colleagues or groups the opportunity to send their Christmas greetings to each other on one large festive card, which can be displayed in work receptions, staff rooms or offices.

“Once you have written your greeting, you make a donation to the hospice in the accompanying donation box, so in addition to saving time, money and helping the environment, it will help raise vital funds for patient care.”

Louise added: “The card itself has kindly been designed by one of our patients in the craft room in day care.”

St Catherine’s Hospice provides in-patient and out-patient care, neurology support, bereavement support and day care for patients across a 1,600sq mile area, including Scarborough, Whitby, Filey, Bridlington, Driffield and Ryedale.

Anyone who would like to take part in “Share-a-card” is asked to phone Louise in the fundraising department on 01723 378406 or email louise.gravestock@st-catherineshospice.org.uk
