VANDALS have targeted tourists who parked their cars in the Thornton-le-Dale car park.
Two similar red Peugeot 106 cars were parked side-by-side in the village’s main car park over night on Friday, August 16, when they were “systematically damaged”, police said.
The cost of the damage ran into the hundreds of pounds, officers said, and the owners, who were all tourists visiting the area, were “understandably caused great distress.”
Anyone with information about the damage is asked to contact PC Andy Marsden at Pickering police station on 101, quoting reference 12130141092.
