GALLERY Beyond in Nunnington, near Helmsley, is celebrating its first year with an exhibition called Hedgerows and Horizons by local artists Liz Churton and Barbara Wood.
The distinctive features of the English landscape, with its land and horizons being framed and divided by hedgerows, are celebrated in this show.
Through their own distinctive visual language and respective media of painting and ceramics, Liz and Barbara go beyond everyday expectations and linger for long enough upon this subject matter for the viewer to go back to the landscape with refreshed eyes.
Gallery Beyond offers an everchanging selection of work by local artists, from contemporary landscapes to an eclectic mix of paintings, ceramics, sculpture, metalwork and more.
The gallery also exhibits work in local inn The Royal Oak and at The Worsley Arms in Hovingham and hopes to announce two new locations in the near future which will help to bring the work of featured Yorkshire and in particular Ryedale artists to a wider audience.
