September always means the end of the school holidays, temperatures cooling off and the nights drawing in – but the Milton Rooms in Malton has the answer.

The team at Malton’s community hub and entertainment venue has been working hard to produce a varied and exciting programme for the early autumn.

During the month there are tributes to the Sixties, Seventies and Eighties plus a look back at the enduring music of David Bowie and Simon & Garfunkel.

Children are catered for too, with the Orchestra of Opera North celebrating the Carnival of the Animals in a magical, interactive family show.

Looking further ahead there’s a spooky Halloween treat with tales from the Haunted House.

And a highlight of November will be the visit of best-selling historian Alison Weir to talk about her new book In the shadow of Queens.

Venue manager Lisa Rich said: "We’ve a varied line-up of shows with a bit of something for everyone.

"We hope people will come along and support these great artists and have a fabulous time.’’
