THE WEATHER has changed, the snow has stopped and the igloos are melting.

Someone needs to save the day. Enter our hero, Aluki the Brave, and her best friend, polar bear Nanuk. They travel over ice and sea to find Asiaq, the Weather Spirit, and tell her to stop being such a meanie.

With all the usual Tiny Time Tales fun and nonsense and plenty of joining in, The Adventures of Aluki and Nanuk can be seen in the McCarthy auditorium at Scarborough’s Stephen Joseph Theatre (SJT)this Christmas, and is the perfect way to introduce little people to live theatre.

The show will be performed by the SJT Young Company, with Aluki played by Nicole Wade (previously seen in the title role of the summer Tiny Time Tales, The Tales of Tipsy Willow Tree), Nanuk by Alex Briggs (Wobegone the Giant in Tipsy Willow) and Asiaq by Sophie Kelly, who was the choreographer on the sell-out half-term production, George’s Marvellous Medicine.

The Adventures of Aluki and Nanuk is written and directed by Cheryl Govan, with set and costume design by Julia Wray (designer of George’s Marvellous Medicine).

Recent shows from the same team – last Christmas’s How to Catch a Fairy, TheTales of Tipsy Willow Tree and George’s Marvellous Medicine – have played to sell-out houses and generated waiting lists, so it is highly recommend advance booking for The Adventures of Aluki and Nanuk.

The Adventures of Aluki and Nanuk can be seen in the McCarthy auditorium at the SJT at 10.30am each morning from Wednesday, 13 to Saturday, December 23, except Sunday 17 and Friday, December 22.

All tickets for The Adventures of Aluki and Nanuk are £4, children under 18 months go free but still need a ticket. To book, phonethe box office on 01723 370541 or visit: www.sjt.uk.com
