A MEN’S choir is back in Malton Market Place this Christmas.

Malton District Male Voice Choir is now in its eleventh year and its latest concert comes after a busy autumn of performances during which it helped raise money for good causes.

The Christmas Concert, which is on Sunday, December 10, at 3pm, in St Michael’s Church, is directed and conducted by Vivien Wilcock and with Moira Gray at the piano, includes traditional and new songs and carols with guest choir soloists adding to the fun. There will also be refreshments.

It all follows a busy autumn concert schedule for the choir. It sang for the fourth time in a row at Bridlington’s Festival of Choirs and Voices in November and for the second time at Scarborough’s spectacular Queen Street Methodist Church August. It came home in between for a “Decade of Song” tenth anniversary concert in St Michael’s Church in September and notched up a fourth popular concert in Cropton in October.

Malton District Male Voice Choir meets most Mondays 7.30-9.30pm in Malton Baptist Church Community Hall.

Chairman Tom Todd, said: “You don’t need to be an experienced singer to join but we value all those who have music or have sung before, with us or other choirs”.
