COMEDY returns to the Milton Rooms on Friday, September 1 with free entry for a night of zany humour from the Leeds-based Discount Comedy Checkout team.

Their Improvisation Comedy Show has reminders of the highly popular old TV show Who’s Line is it Anyway? with Clive Anderson, where the audience is invited to provide some weird and wonderful challenges for the team to invent instant comedy sketches.

So if you’ve ever wanted to see a giant jelly man attack New York, or a musical romance blossom between a kitchen sink and a fridge, the Discount Comedy Checkout will deliver it for you in hilarious fashion in this adults only show.

Now in their tenth year, the Discount Comedy Checkout team are made up of Chris Lumb, Natalie Smeaton, Eddie French, Terri Shaw, Jade Fearnley, Tom King and Dom Hodgson – who all work on rotation performing an evening of ridiculously silly games and sketches; improvised, quirky, slapstick, and as surreal as you are likely to see.

“This is our first foray into comedy for a while so we are offering this free taster to see if there is the potential to run a regular comedy club night at the Milton Rooms,” said Milton Rooms chair, Merryn Wilderspin.

While there is no charge, tickets should still be booked in advance from the Milton Rooms box office or by phone, 01653 696240.
