NORTH Yorkshire Moors Railway is offering days out for all the family over the festive period.

From Wednesday, December 27 to Sunday, January 6, the railway is open for journeys from Pickering.

Danielle Ramsey, the railway’s marketing manager, said: “The North Yorkshire Moors Railway has been a highlight of the festive season for many years, not just for the railway but for the many hundreds of excited children and their families who have enjoyed riding on a steam train.”

The first train leaves Pickering at 11am with the last train departing at 3pm. At Grosmont, the first train leaves at 9.30am, with the last train departing at 4.30pm.

All services call at Pickering, Levisham, Goathland and Grosmont. A special request can be made to the guard to stop at Newtondale Halt.
