AN award winning cookery school belonging to one of North Yorkshire's most iconic brands has agreed an exclusivity deal with one of the UK's few female Michelin-starred chefs.

Bettys Cookery School is working with Frances Atkins, chef at The Yorke Arms near Pateley Bridge, to host an exclusive series of seasonal demonstrations.

Mrs Atkins, a fellow of the Master Chefs of Great Britain, and one of only six female Michelin-starred chefs in the UK, will be presenting her first class with the support of tutors at the Harrogate-based School, in March.

Head of Bettys Cookery School, Emma Wray said: "We are so proud and thrilled to offer all keen cooks countrywide this unique opportunity to gain new inspiration and techniques from Frances and the Bettys Cookery School team. We are anticipating much interest."

Mrs Atkins added: "I feel very privileged to be working with Bettys Cookery School where quality, style and consistency are an inspiration and pleasure.”

The Yorke Arms, at Ramsgill in Nidderdale has been awarded a Michelin Star every year since 2003. As well as growing her own herbs and vegetables in the garden of the Restaurant, Frances is passionate about fresh, local seasonal produce.

Three further demonstrations are currently planned with Frances for Summer, Autumn and Winter.

Last year Bettys Cookery School, which neighbours Bettys Craft Bakery in Harrogate, was named Best Cookery School in the Looking to Cook UK Cookery School of the Year Awards 2014. The win was quickly followed with a Highly Commended at the British Cookery School Awards in London.
