FIVE friends took part in a night they’ll never forget by baring all for the charity set up by one of their friends.

Inspired by The Full Monty film, Ryan Swain, Scott Simpson, Sam Brookes, John Atkinson and Dez Pattinson stripped off in front of a sell-out crowd at the Railway Club in Norton.

Organised by Ryan Swain, from Norton, the event raised £794 for Louby’s Lifeline and £397 for Children with Cancer UK.

Louby’s Lifeline was set up by Laura Robertson-Tierney, known as Louby, who passed away at her home in Malton on February 29 last year.

Shortly after her diagnosis, in April 2011, she set up Louby’s Lifeline to raise awareness of brain cancer and the appeal has so far raised more than £25,000.

Ryan, who raised thousands of pounds last year by skateboarding from Malton to Scarborough and back, said he wanted to do another event for the appeal and for Children with Cancer UK.

“For several weeks the five of us had practically lived in the gym and devoted our time to fundraising and learning the moves to get our kits off for charity,” he said.

“Yes, it was petrifying but we knew we had a mission to do and the show had to go on.”

Ryan said the event had been a great success.

“Everyone had fantastic night and the feedback to it has been incredible,” he said.

“We would like to say a massive thank you to the whole community for being so supportive and to everyone who helped, contributed, donated and came to this spectacular event. It is one I will never ever forget.”
