INSURANCE brokers McClarrons is hosting a series of farming seminars which aim to provide advice and support to the rural community.

The seminars are designed to help farmers and rural businesses understand what the future holds for the agricultural industry, including the opportunities and threats which could occur through and beyond Brexit.

In addition, guidance on how insurance can assist in growing and protecting farming businesses will be provided.

McClarrons, which is based in Malton, will welcome two guest speakers to the events. The first is Gordon Whitford, HSBC regional agricultural director for Northern England & Northern Ireland, who will be discussing the future of farming post-Brexit and how the agricultural industry will evolve through and beyond the impact of Brexit.

The second speaker is Robert Medcalf, sales and development manager of HB Underwriting, a specialist rural insurance provider.

Robert will discuss specifically, their Rural Protect policy, talking about how it can support and protect farming businesses no matter their size or activities.

The seminars will take place from 6.30pm at the following venues:

  • Wednesday, February 19 - Malton & Norton Golf Club, Malton;
  • Thursday, February 20 - The King’s Head Hotel, Richmond;
  • Tuesday, February 25 - The Station Hotel, Patrington.
