THE annual Helmsley and District Young Farmers' charity gimmer lamb sale was held last Thursday at Wombleton sheep sale, hosted by Cundalls.

Thirteen lambs were donated to be sold by local farmers and more than £1,000 was raised, to be split between the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and Mind.

Anthony Rooke judged the lambs with the Frank Flintoft Memorial Trophy for the best lamb going to F E Ellis and Son for a texel cross lamb, which went on to make £132.

Prizes were donated by several local agricultural suppliers.
