A MALTON veterinary practice is the cat’s whiskers after becoming a feline-friendly clinic.

Mount Veterinary Group has created a cat-friendly waiting room at its surgery in Middlecave Road, Malton, to try to eliminate anxiety for cats and their owners.

The practice revamp has resulted in the practice becoming accredited to the International Society of Feline Medicine (ISFM) as a cat-friendly clinic.

ISFM works with the veterinary profession across the world to provide information for the veterinary care of cats, and is recognised and respected for the standards it aspires to.

The improvements were overseen by veterinary nurse Stella Ellis.

Stella said: “We are delighted to receive silver status as a cat-friendly clinic as we have been working towards this for a while and making improvements to the practice.”

“We have had a positive response from clients and cats to the improvements and it has made visiting the practice a much more positive experience for owners and cats.

ISFM encourages veterinary nurses to take a key role in helping practices become more cat friendly to enhance the care of feline patients and their owners.
