SPRING is in the air for one Ryedale farming family as they welcomed four lambs.

The quads were born at Norfolk Lodge, Brawby, last Wednesday.

Owner Barbara Stonehouse said: “We were out in the field and thought the mother had just had three lambs when another appeared.

“She had managed to deliver all four by herself as well.”

Mrs Stonehouse added: “We have had twins and triplets, but it isn’t very often that we get four.

“The mother and four lambs are all doing well.”

Meanwhile, at the Howarth farm in Wilton, near Pickering, they have already welcomed 22 new lambs, with six more ewes due to give birth.
