A NATIONAL TV advertising campaign starring a man from near York has been launched.

The NFU Mutual campaign, which premiered during the commercial break for Emmerdale recently, stars Matthew Cliff, who is an agent at NFU Mutual’s York office in Tadcaster Road.

Matthew, of Aldwark, was chosen to star in the insurer’s Real Conversations campaign which was filmed in agent offices and customers’ houses across the UK, including Yorkshire.

The advertisements follow a day in the life of NFU Mutual, as agents support customers to protect the things that really matter.

Matthew, who joined NFU Mutual eight years ago, rose through the ranks to become an agent in 2015. He has lived in the York area throughout his life and also serves as the National Farmers’ Union group secretary.

He said: “I feel really proud to be involved in the campaign, which highlights the real conversations we have with our customers every day.

“I’m used to visiting our customers’ houses, farms and businesses but this is the first time I’ll be appearing via their TV screens.”

Bev Mitchell, head of marketing at NFU Mutual, added: “As someone who lives in Yorkshire, I’m particularly pleased we’ve brought this campaign home.

“Providing a personalised service is central to what we do at NFU Mutual and we wanted to show our real stars – our agents – at a local level helping real customers.”

The full 30-second television commercial will be accompanied by three 10-second advertisements throughout 2018. NFU Mutual has more than 300 offices across the UK, in addition to regional UK call centres.

It offers a wide range of products, including general and commercial insurance, business insurance, life, pensions, and investments.
