Stables ran a full schedule of events to ensure riders were kept entertained during the half-term holiday, which included a showjumping competition and the first of the popular winter dressage series at the Sinnington venue last week.

The dressage show was particularly well-contested, resulting in the start time having to be brought forward to accommodate the number of entries.

An accumulator will run throughout the season, with a trophy going to the rider gaining the most points in each section.

Jonathon Gill has enjoyed numerous victories at Snainton Riding Centre throughout the summer and continued his run of success here when taking the top honours in the prelim and novice tests with his two former racehorses, Boots and Thorn.

The yard showjumping contest also saw a good turnout of riders. Amy Newman and Freedom got proceedings under way with a clear victory in the opening class before Charlotte Fryday went on to notch up a notable double riding her consistent bay gelding, Comet.

The organisers would like to thank Alison Champion, Rebecca Champion, Emily Newman and George Brown for their help in clearing the arena of jumps after the event.
