Riders representing Norton College enjoyed their share of the limelight after winning the 85cm showjumping championship at the National Schools Equestrian Association (NSEA) Championships, which took place at Addington Manor, in Buckinghamshire.

The successful quartet comprising Hannah Milner on Libby, Sabine Crowe riding Emma, Kiera Colgan on Max and Lois Teal riding Totti, displayed their talent by delivering some good clear jumping rounds to take the top honours amid some intense competition.

The pathfinder for the team was Lois Teal, whose foot-perfect jumping rounds put her at the top of the leader-board to clinch the 85cm individual title, riding Totti.

Lois also took individual third place in the 1m 05 showjumping championship and was individual fourth in the 1m 05 Jumping with Style, riding the eye-catching appaloosa gelding, Fleck.

Scalby School pupil Lucy Gilsenan was crowned winner of the NSEA, North of England Regional Points League, while competing at the championships.

Points were accrued throughout the year with members competing in showjumping, dressage and eventing disciplines. Competitions were held across Yorkshire, including, Bishop Burton College, Northallerton Equestrian Centre and Queen Ethelburga’s College.

Having won the county Showjumping Championship in February, riding her effervescent pony Comanche Blue, Lucy has now fulfilled her ambition to finish top of the Regional Points League with her other pony, Maddy.
